Ruach Unity Gala Overview

 

THE WESTWOOD, GARWOOD, NJ (12.04.16) – Ruach Outreach Ministries will host its 2nd Annual Benefit Gala on Sunday, December 4th, 2016 at 6:00 PM in the Cynthia Ballroom of The Westwood.

 

Each year, Ruach Outreach Ministries, through its outreach and educational programs, provides meals and clean water to feed the homeless, needy, impoverished and hungry in the Plainfield area. Ruach also hosts free quarterly seminars and workshops to help educate community members in key areas including mental health awareness, financial literacy and wellness. To create a lasting impact in the lives of the youth within the community, Ruach provides key mentorship programs for both, young men and women throughout the region. Lastly, Ruach works alongside community members to fight for social justice, income equality, and equal human rights.

 

Proceeds from the gala will help fund programs including Ruach's:

 

MATR (Movement of Adult and Teen Resilience) - providing emotional and vocational support for children and families affected by loved ones diagnosed with mental illness.

 

Breath of Life Outreach - providing clean water, food, and access to shelter to the homeless and abject poor in local communities.

 

SIS (Sisters In Spirit) – connecting, educating and serving the needs of women to establish relationships promoting accountability and acceptance.

 

MOVE (Men of Valor Empowerment) Movement - mentoring young men to develop integrity, courage, and social responsibility.

 

The evening will begin with a reception where guests will have a chance to mingle, bid in the silent auction, and enjoy stimulating conversation with other community-minded individuals. The reception will be followed by dinner, a special keynote address, and an evening of dancing to the sounds of live Cuban-Jazz fusion and lively dance music.

 

The theme of the evening is “Unity.” Awards will be given to special honorees that have been instrumental in making Plainfield and surrounding communities a better place to live and raise families.  

 

Ruach Outreach Ministries strives to be a haven for the underserved community members of the City of Plainfield and surrounding areas. The nonprofit’s mission is to provide for individuals’ total being that they may prosper in all their ways: Physically, Mentally, Spiritually, and Socioeconomically.
